Our Story
Rooted in the community we call home
Lark & Owl Eatery began with a simple conviction: that the best meals come from knowing your neighbors — the farmers, the foragers, the artisans who grow and make the things that end up on your plate.
We opened our doors on Walnut Avenue in 2019, drawn to Elgin's quiet energy and the growing network of local farms in Kane County. Every ingredient on our menu has a name and a story. Our produce comes from farms within 50 miles. Our meats are pasture-raised. Our bread is baked fresh each morning.
The name reflects two creatures we find here — the lark at dawn, the owl at dusk — and the belief that dining should feel like both: a beginning and a winding down, a moment to notice something beautiful.
